Malbec, a thin skinned grape grown mostly in Argentina though it was traditionally utilized in Bordeaux blends. In the United States it is primarily used in meritage blends that compete with the traditional Bordeaux style. Being inky in color and having exceptional tannin structure, Malbec is noted for its dark fruit, slight earthiness and well balanced acidity.
